Te āheinga: The opportunity

Unitec is currently recruiting for a registered osteopath to join our School of Community Studies. In this role you will be teaching a highly applied Masters level course, primarily supporting students' clinical work, providing support and mentoring our final year of students.

As a clinical tutor, you would supervise students in their clinical interactions within Unitec's on-campus osteopathy clinic. You would support students in integrating their existing knowledge and skills with underpinning theory, relevant research and current best practice guidelines, to evaluate relevant factors, formulate hypotheses, and develop plans for the clinical management of their patients.


This is a fixed-term contract from 10-January to 15 December 2022 for 1-2 sessions per week and sessions are as follows:

  • Tuesday mornings 8am - 12pm
  • Tuesday afternoon 2pm - 6pm
  • Friday afternoon 1:30-5:30pm


He kōrero mōu: About you

You are a registered osteopath who is currently practising in New Zealand looking to support our next generation of osteopaths.

  • Relevant Osteopathic qualification
  • Osteopathic clinical experience
  • Registered in New Zealand
  • Hold a current annual practising certificate
  • Work collaboratively
  • Effective communication with a wide variety of people, including academic and clinical support staff, other health professionals and students
  • Teaching experience would be valuable but not essential
