Osteopath – Full-Time Position | Hamilton

Expires: 1 Dec 2026
  • Job Vacancies
  • Graduates

Less burnout. More life.

If you're an osteopath who wants to do great work, build a busy and varied caseload, be part of a genuinely supportive team, and still have time to enjoy life outside the clinic, this might be the role for you.

Waikato Osteopathic Centre is a long-standing multidisciplinary clinic based in a beautiful 1920s villa in Hamilton. We're looking for a qualified osteopath to join our team in a full-time permanent role, either as an employee or contractor.

We've had two osteopaths leave, but our flow of new patients has remained strong. There is currently more patient demand than we have osteopath capacity for, so the successful applicant will have a genuine opportunity to build a full caseload quickly rather than spending months trying to generate their own patients.

A busy clinic without the burnout

We think being busy and being burnt out are two very different things.

We want our osteopaths to have a full diary and earn well, without filling every available hour of the week or taking work home with them.

Here you'll get:

  • A strong flow of new patients and an existing referral network, so you can build your caseload quickly
  • A diverse patient base including mums and babies, office workers, tradies, athletes and older adults
  • The freedom to practise osteopathy your way, with autonomy and support rather than micromanagement
  • No marketing expectations, sales targets or arbitrary KPI pressure
  • Reception staff who handle bookings, invoicing, ACC administration and the day-to-day clinic admin
  • Opportunities to develop areas of interest – we currently have gaps in paediatrics, women's health and cranial work
  • A working week that leaves time for family, hobbies, sport and life outside the clinic

We're a genuinely caring and collaborative team of osteopaths, acupuncturists and experienced reception staff who work closely together. No egos, no clinic politics – just good people who care about their patients and enjoy what they do.

Remuneration

We believe in being upfront about what you can realistically earn.

  • NZD $35/hour guaranteed minimum
  • Additional performance-based earnings topped up to 60% of patient and ACC invoices paid
  • Realistic total annual earnings of approximately NZD $82,800–$96,600 for a full-time osteopath once established
  • Genuine opportunity to increase your earnings as your caseload grows, without an arbitrary cap
  • For employees, ACC levies and professional insurance costs are covered by the clinic

The earning figures above are based on the current patient demand, appointment structure and working hours rather than an inflated "potential" income that requires an unrealistic caseload.

The Clinic

The clinic is located in Maeroa, Hamilton, in a lovely character villa just minutes from the CBD.

You'll work alongside osteopaths, acupuncturists and experienced reception staff in a friendly, supportive environment.

We have:

  • Fully equipped treatment rooms
  • Electric treatment plinths
  • Air conditioning
  • Gensolve practice management software with integrated clinical notes and body charts
  • Established referral relationships throughout Hamilton
  • Direct access to imaging, specialist referrals and other allied healthcare providers when needed

The Role

  • Full-time permanent position
  • 32–45 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, Monday–Friday
  • No weekends, late nights or early mornings
  • 60-minute initial appointments and 40-minute follow-ups
  • A busy and varied patient caseload
  • Clinical autonomy with support when you need it

We can be flexible around your preferred working pattern. If you'd rather work four days and have a longer weekend, that's absolutely fine.

Life in Hamilton

Hamilton is an easy place to live and a fantastic base for exploring the North Island.

Outside of work there's plenty to enjoy:

  • Hamilton Gardens and the Waikato River trails
  • Great cafés, restaurants and markets
  • Sports clubs, gyms and outdoor recreation
  • Surfing at Raglan
  • Easy access to Rotorua, Taupō, Tauranga and Auckland
  • Skiing and snowboarding at Mt Ruapehu during winter

It's a great place to build a career without having your work take over your life.

About You

We'd love to hear from osteopaths who are:

  • Qualified with an OCNZ-recognised osteopathic qualification
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand and ACC
  • Confident communicators with solid clinical reasoning skills
  • Comfortable treating a wide range of patients and conditions
  • Keen to continue learning and developing professionally
  • Able to work independently while also being part of a collaborative team

New graduates are welcome to apply, and mentoring and support can be provided where needed.

Thinking about a change?

If you're looking for a clinic where you can build a busy caseload, earn well, work alongside good people and still have a life outside osteopathy, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now or get in touch if you'd like an informal chat about the role.
