Osteopath – Full-Time Position | Hamilton
Less burnout. More life.
If you’re an osteopath who wants to do great work, be part of a supportive team, and still have time to enjoy life outside the clinic this might be the role for you.
Waikato Osteopathic Centre is a long-standing multidisciplinary clinic based in a beautiful 1920s villa in Hamilton. We’re currently looking for a qualified osteopath to join our team in a full-time permanent role, either as an employee or contractor.
We’ve had two osteopaths leave and continue to have a strong flow of new patients coming through the clinic, so there is genuine opportunity to build a full and varied caseload quickly, without feeling burnt out.
What it’s actually like here
• You focus on treating patients — we handle the reception, bookings, invoicing, ACC admin, and advertising
• No marketing expectations, no pressure, and no weird KPI targets
• Osteopathy your way — autonomy and support without micromanaging
• Diverse patient base including mums and babies, office workers, tradies, athletes, and older adults
• Opportunities to build areas of interest (we currently have gaps in paediatrics, women’s health, and cranial work)
• Flexibility for hobbies, sport, and life outside work
We’re a genuinely caring and collaborative team of osteopaths, acupuncturists, and experienced reception staff who all work closely together. No egos, no clinic politics, just good people who care about patients and enjoy what they do.
The Clinic
The clinic is located in Maeroa, Hamilton, in a lovely character villa just minutes from the CBD.
Hamilton is an easy place to live and a fantastic base for exploring the North Island. Outside of work there’s plenty to enjoy:
• Hamilton Gardens and Waikato River trails
• Great cafés, restaurants, and markets
• Sports clubs, gyms, and outdoor recreation
• Easy access to Raglan surf beaches, Rotorua, Taupō, Tauranga, and Auckland
• Skiing and snowboarding at Mt Ruapehu during winter
We also maintain strong referral networks throughout the city, with direct access to imaging, specialist referrals, and allied healthcare providers when needed.
The Role
• Full-time permanent position
• 32–45 hours per week over 4 or 5 days (Monday–Friday)
• No weekends, late nights, or early mornings
• 60-minute initial appointments and 40-minute follow-ups
• Fully equipped treatment rooms with electric plinths and air conditioning
• Gensolve practice management software with integrated notes and body charts
Remuneration
• Minimum guaranteed pay of NZD $35/hour
• Base salary range: NZD $58,240 – $81,900
• Additional bonus structure calculated at 60% of patient and ACC invoices paid
• Realistic total annual earnings of approximately NZD $82,800 – $96,600
• ACC levies and insurance costs covered for employees
About You
We’d love to hear from osteopaths who are:
• Qualified with an OCNZ-recognised osteopathic qualification
• Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand and ACC
• Confident communicators with solid clinical reasoning skills
• Comfortable treating a wide range of patients and conditions
• Keen to continue learning and developing professionally
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
New graduates are welcome to apply, and mentoring/support can be provided where needed.
If this sounds like your kind of clinic, we’d love to hear from you.
